I’m guessing they were concerned about the room being booby trapped with a bomb or something. And since the shooting had stopped, maybe they didn’t feel the need to rush in.

Other than your personal anecdote from listening to the scanner, can you provide a written source for the duration of shooting?
I assume you are talking 10 minutes to have any presence at the scene, another while to figure out what to do, then to find where the shooter is roughly then finally exactly and how to take them out... 72 minutes seems like a long time, but I am not going to attack the police or their policies blindly....
If it turns out there are things they could and should have done better, more efficiently that will come out and policies will be changed....

No. At approximately 32 minutes into the event someone on the radio asks how long ago the last shots were fired. At least one response was 15 minutes ago.
Well, I agree that we must await the investigation before passing judgment. Throughout this thread I’ve asked repeatedly for documentation of what happened through responsible print reporting, without success.
