The American Meteor Society (AMS) took to Twitter on December 7 to confirm that what he saw was in fact, a meteor.

(((
Must be a very exclusive organization if the AMS is made up of only one individual.

No. Not really. A couple of weeks ago I went out to the store, the sun had just set. Then I saw a rather big meteor streak across the southern horizon. I was white and looked like a big white ball but no visible tail that I could see. At first glance I thought it was an airplane or helicopter but then realized how big it was and how fast it was moving.

I lost sight of it behind some trees and a building just as it looked like it was breaking apart.

When I got home I checked out the American Meteor Society website to confirm, or rule out that what I had seen was a meteor.

Pretty cool as I wasn’t the only one who had seen it.
