Right before he turned himself in on a warrant, Kyle Barrett said he got one last moment with his 4-year-old daughter Gabrielle.
“I got to give her a kiss and a hug and say I loved her,” he told the Detroit Free Press.
It would be the last time the 26-year-old from Sumpter Township, Michigan, would ever see his daughter alive.
Police say they found Gabrielle unresponsive on Jan. 1 just before 11 a.m. with burns and bruises covering her body, according to Michigan Live. The girl, who family members were performing CPR on when officers arrived, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Am inclined to agree with the real father. The new boyfriend did this. And yes, what you said is probably what happened. Wanna be it was to cover up sex abuse? Wanna bet it worked? People just lay up with anyone and create a child anymore and this is the end result. The child dies at the hands of a monster.
I know evil has always been with us, as child abuse but it’s getting worse. Single motherhood and abortion has lead to an increase. The rate and scale is off the charts. People don’t value life, plus this child had no real father protecting her.
I feel deeply for this poor child and the others that are made to suffer, my hope, though un Christian, is that these two suffer a very great deal in the very short rest of their lives on Earth.

I read more about them on Daily Mail’s site. Seems both suffer from some sort of mental illness. Drugs have been found in their home which was probably some form of self medicating. Our mental health system is a joke. It failed these two and this kid.
in most scalding injuries, the water heater has been purposefully modified by the perpetrator to hurt the child. They adjust the thermostat and then throw the child in the water. There’s generally a specific pattern of injuries you will see in a child too. The burns will be less severe from where the contact points of the child’s body is pressed against the surface of the tub, usually the butt, the back and prominences on the shoulders if on their back or it will be the knees and elbows. The water had to be boiling hot and she was immersed for a fair amount of time if they were finding pieces of skin in the drain and one of her toys fell off.
Probably the boyfriend with the mother’s passive support. The meth is strong in the faces of both of these idiots so it may have played a role.

He says he was jobless and homeless, and he wasn’t making his support payments. The article didn’t specifically say this was the reason for his arrest, but I got the impression it was.

Update: My daughter is doing great. Meth mom is still an utter loser. Still has meth eyes.
So it sounds like the worthless ex wife did get him thrown in debtor’s prison.
