The Hollywood Reporter published a surprising story earlier this month about film studios turning away from movies about sex. A biopic about Hugh Hefner is stalled, gone for the moment is a James Franco film about a 15-year-old Russian prostitute, and a remake of “A Star Is Born” is being re-thought, too.

I don't know about that. I still manage to find movies worth watching that feature those attributes. Don't believe everything you read about Hollywood in glossy "women's" gossip magazines. There's still a lot of good movies (and television) being made.

Even though PTSD has always, post war - any war, been obtained by a minority of the thousands or millions that went to war, it has become “the theme of choice” to western Marxists/Progressives/Liberals on all matters related to “war”, including movies.
A truly correct study of PTSD would determine methods and means of ruling out those most susceptible for obtaining PTSD symptoms after combat. But no, let’s just do like the Marxists/Progressives/Liberals and make-believe ALL soldiers are unable to cope with combat, will get PTSD and BAN “war”.
For those who have been born since 1968, you missed the first hysteria wave on violence and masculinity on TV.
In 1968 Bobby Kennedy was murdered by a Palestinian immigrant and the news media went into hysteria. They blamed “violence on TV, comic books, lurid pulp fiction, violence in movies, guns, the NRA.
So, TV shows for adults but safe for kids, was dumbed down to kiddie shows. Movies shown on TV were butchered to remove any form of “violence”. Pulp Fiction removed their lurid blood soaked covers. Toy guns disappeared from the stores. Rough and tough Tv stars suddenly became more “kind and gentle”.
But the MOVIE INDUSTRY said they would “police themselves” with a joke of a ratings system. Before that, you could drop off the kids as even adult movies were safe enough for kids. But no more.
So the post 1968 movies were reshot to add more sex and violence blood and guts, all protected by the “R” rating.
Then cam CABLE and the rules against sex and violence on TV were tossed.
Now they are crying about the “monster” they have made.
Was he a big tipper though?
While we’re at it, return to the female look of the 30s-50s. When women actually had their natural curves and not broomsticks nor an inflated bra size dujour. They actually had meat on themselves and looked good.
Guess they could re-do Breakfast at Tiffany’s the way the story was written, with a gay writer befriending a lost soul, versus handsome hunk as a potential love interest for a glamorous misfit.
Starting to think that John Wayne wouldn’t get a lot of roles these days.
The Generals and Mattis agree, hence cross dressers in the military, women in combat arms branches, reduced PT standards, homosexual “weddings” in military chapels including West Point’s historic chapel. Not one of Obama’s Generals working for Trump has taken a single left wing experiment out of the military over the past year.
