Axenolith, that is quite interesting about the small u. On which coins does this occur? I have not examined my coins closely, so have not been looking. Just now examined a 2017 penny and one from pre-2008. Not noticing a difference in the u. Only difference is replacement of Lincoln Memorial with the Shield.The Shield reminds me of some of the official stamps and symbols used during the WWI or II period. (without looking can’t remember which.)

It was on silver Eagles, (probably gold too) around 07-09... I’ll try to find link to one...

The change was 2008.

Click the link to the 2007 coin and then the 2008, the change was very clear and I never saw any literature on it. I’ll check the golds too...
