Remember when President Trump had his first conversation with Australia's prime minister and, inexplicably, the conversation turned into a slam-down-the-receiver fight?
Maybe Trump knew something. The ostensible issue at the time was refugees and a stanky little deal President Obama made for America to take in Australia's high-risk illegal refugees from Islamic hellholes who had paid smugglers to bring them to Australia's shores illegally. The illegal entrants were being awarded for their illegality with American residence and citizenship, something they will eventually come to abhor before one of them lashes out at us through a terror attack or some other antisocial act, and it takes only one.
No wonder President Trump was angry. The rest of us were angry, too.
But it's baffling that the problem came from Australia, a longtime ally of the U.S. Now a new investigative report suggests a reason why: turns out Australia had been meddling in our election, in a failed bid to ensure Hillary Clinton's victory. The Hill reports that Downer had earlier dispensed some $25 million in contributions to the Clinton Foundation back in 2006, leaving Australia in a position to ask for some fancy favors from the Democrats. It's far from the only instance. Clarice Feldman notes in an email: "The only documented meddling in the election was by Australians." She sent links to stories showing that illegal campaign donations went to Bernie Sanders from Australian sources, which resulted in a fine for Sanders, and the Australian Labor Party sent operatives to work against President Trump. Meddling, indeed.
It's the Australian ruling party, the Liberal Party, that meddled most. Turns out Alexander Downer, the supposedly untainted, dispassionate outside source that fingered one of President Trump's young advisers in London who had had contacts with Russian sources as a likely national security concern,

I’ve vacationed with Aussies - the ones I’ve talked to were nice but absolutely freaked out by the “gun culture” - they were convinced (by the Left) that it’s like a Wild West free-for-all here thanks to 2A.
I’m not at all surprised they would want Hillary.

The first thing that jumps out at me is...why would the Australian government give $25 million to The Clinton Foundation to fight AIDS in Asia?

Does anyone doubt there are probably dozens and dozens of organizations based in Australia, if not simply the government itself that would rather have this money to spend, its own cash, its own prestige, but...instead they give it to The Clinton Foundation? I considered that perhaps the Clinton Foundation had infrastructure already in place, blah blah blah. I don't buy it.

Reprehensible. The Clinton Foundation is a criminal racketeering enterprise, run by two hillbilly grifters who think they are above the law.

As at February 2006, the Clinton Foundation’s climate change, global initiative, carbon-accounting and HIV/Aids operation in the Asia Pacific region had a total staff of one - Ruby Shang.
Ruby wasn’t overly taxed, because beyond invoicing, the Clinton Foundation didn’t actually do much. In between boning up on HIV epidemiology and counting carbon, Ruby was also able to hang on to a full time job running the Caterpillar earthmoving dealership in Vietnam.
The Foundation could not withstand scrutiny at the best of times, but even Clinton saw the vulnerability in having just one pretend employee who did everything all over Asia. A few more token appointments would be needed to satisfy the AusAid MOU.
When the Australian MOU was signed in Sydney, Clinton’s PNG head honcho to-be was 16,000 kilometres away working in New York. Not in medicine, or management, or a charity. The Clinton Foundation’s putative PNG boss was an entry level accounts payable clerk processing compo claims (or as Zachary Katz describes himself on his LinkedIn history, as a ‘Payment Operations Associate”).
Zachary Katz graduated from college in 2000 with a BA in earth sciences. In his only job since graduating, he “worked to eliminate backlogs of refunded, retained, and outstanding payments; responded to inquiries; investigated failed payments and established a network of contacts”. It’s not the sort of CV likely to win many multi-million dollar HIV/Aids contracts.
It’s shocking, but the Clinton Foundation appeared to be much more interested in raising money and double-dipping on funding in Papua New Guinea than it was in helping people with HIV.
There is no other way to explain its actions.
Katz the New Yorker started working for the Clinton Foundation in June 2006 as a “country analyst”.

My disbelief was in wondering why many organizations in Australia who probably do EXACTLY these kinds of outreach programs didn’t raise holy hell with their government, wondering why they sent $25 million to an American organization when they should have received those same funds.
I guess we aren’t the only ones with a corrupt government...
Looks like the liberals in Australia are just as much NOT the party of the real people as they are not here either.
