What's this nonsense about Democrat turnout in Texas?
2018-03-07 | Dangus

Drudge and establishment/leftwing news sites have been going crazy with the notion that incredibly high Democrat turnout in Texas means that Texas is going blue.

But election results show that Republicans are absolutely SPANKING Democrats in turnout, getting 50% more votes than the Democrats.

https://www.politico.com/election-results/2018/texas/

And that's with the Democrats having fiesty, expensive primary contents while the Republicans are mostly merely coronating their incumbent governor, Greg Abbot, and senator, Ted Cruz (although both candidates had multiple opponents).

Abbot received 1.4 million votes, compared to Lupe Valdez and Andrew White, who will be headed to a runoff after receiving about half that number... combined!

And after all the worry that Ted Cruz was so vulnerable, he managed 1.3 million votes, compared to the Democrat nominee who received less than half as many.

These are huge increases in Democrat primary votes, so it's worth noting that core Democrats are energized... but turning Texas blue?

“Texas votes republican” isn’t a very interesting headline I guess.

Heard yesterday that these are mostly returning registered Democrat voters, not first time voters. Not firing up new voters, just getting some of the base to return.

The media wouldn’t mislead us. Would they?

MSM, NPR etc aren’t interested in covering the news from the perspective of the GOP retaining Congressional control.

When the Rats are in charge, the MSM isn’t interested in covering the perspective of the GOP taking Congressional control (especially as a backlash to Com-Left policies and corruption).

Depress the vote.

Daily drum beat of “give up give up give up”, “you are outnumbered”, “you’re on the wrong side of 40”, “you’re on the wrong side of history”, “this time for sure!”

The scare headline was about early voting, which apparently mostly Democrats were doing.

Republicans turned out on election day, but the early voting trend gave the MSM some sexy headlines to push a meme.

The dim turnout at my polling spot was much bigger than I had ever seen. But then I have lived here 35 years and the demographics have changed.

"...Drudge and establishment/leftwing news sites..."

Pretty much the answer there.

I am reading the book "Let Trump Be Trump", and a common theme is over and over and over again how the media declared the Trump campaign was in a "death spiral" (its favorite term) blah blah blah.

Same thing now. Pandemonium reigns, people leaving in droves, fighting with each other, etc.

It is why I stopped watching and reading anything from the MSM about 20 years ago. They just want people to be emotionally stimulated and agitated. I don't need that.

For the Republicans it’s all about getting you to donate to their party, for Democrats it’s all about trying to bring out Trump hating voters. Same old dog & pony show for the people.

In Texas there is rarely a reason for Republicans to get involved with primary voting, given that the incumbents usually win by a 3-1 margin over the libtards. The last primary I voted in was when Cruz was running against some POS RINO for Senate; basically the Demonics are falling all over themselves to vote for their side’s loser in November, and as usual, the enemedia lying scum are trying to suggest its something else.

President Trump said: "don't get complacent".
Nothing can fight off complacency like headlines saying: "Texas turning blue", so don't be upset when you see such headlines, they're good for us.

And they will be 100% true the day we become too complacent.

Not really.

State voting histories don’t change much over time.

The GOP should be able to retain control of Congress later this year and President Trump should be re-elected in 2020.

Democrats are the minority party in the country even with the fake news media behind them.

Looking at prior elections doesn’t tell you what’s going to happen in this one. If it did, we’d not bother with the election at all.

1,000,000 Democrat voters....1.5,000,000 Republican voters....50% more pubs...in Texas that is considered close.
