SACRAMENTO, California Attorney Jeff Sessions told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Wednesday morning that he expects to prevail in a lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice Tuesday evening against Californias sanctuary state laws. In his first interview since the DOJ filed the lawsuit, which challenges the constitutionality of the California statutes under the Supremacy Clause, Sessions told Breitbart News that he was optimistic about the cases prospects.
We believe that we cannot accept the kind of restrictions that California placed on federal law officers, and we believe that their actions exceeded the Constitution, and we will win in the courts eventually, he said.
The states elected leaders all Democrats slammed Sessionss lawsuit on Tuesday evening. Governor Jerry Brown, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), and Attorney General Xavier Becerra all took to Twitter to oppose the lawsuit. Becerra even claimed that he was determined to uphold the law state sanctuary law, as opposed to federal immigration law.

That seems to do nothing to prevent the Sessions hatefest around here, or to prevent idiots from saying that he should be replaced by (the far more liberal) Rudy Giuliani or Chris Christie.
This ought to put a bee up the orifices of the rats and liberfarians.

Does he hold sort sort of job in government?
I have never hear from him regarding anything important. ... /sarc.
Make no mistake, there are many rats and libturds on this site.

And I get the feeling that Jeff was careful to get all his legal ducks in a row before filing this.

The whole point behind illegal immigration and sanctuary cities is new voting blocks for dems.
All this going after sanctuary cities is good, much much progress compared to the past, but this isn’t going far enough to preserve the integrity of our elections.
Absolutely a fire-breather this guy Session!.
Talk about a take no prisoners type!
He needs to back off on the Geritol!!
Saw Pelosi comments, notice she is a supporter of the USA invasion.
Sessions is working real hard and he is doing just what President Trump wants...I am sure the Democrats are fearful of Sessions. What gets me is the people out her wanting Sessions fired. HA
Calif passed a proposition years ago, which would have denied public benefits to illegal aliens. That law was overturned by federal courts, based on the concept of federal supremacy in matters of immigrants issues, even if People were here illegally.
Arizona passed a law against illegals, most of which was thrown out by courts. Again, legally, the issue was that the federal government had supremacy and jurisdiction over matters pertaining to immigration.
But now , with sanctuary cities and states, the liberals are trying to say that state and local governments can make their own laws related to immigration.
Liberals can’t have it both ways. You can’t argue that in some cases, federal law and oversight of an issue is the prevailing legal standard, but in other cases, liberals will make their own laws at the state and local level in contradiction of federal law. They can’t have it both ways.
Leftist standards? Some joke.
Let's get it out of the 9th circus and into the Supreme Court where the case belongs.
Yep - now folks are pissed that Sessions is going to go the legal route instead of turning government guns on the Kalifornians - they fail to understand that winning this lawsuit would pretty much shut down all the sanctuary cities - with prejudice....
Not to worry, y'all will have probably passed on before this finishes winding its way through the courts, taking billions of dollars out of our pockets (one way or another). We can understand how lawyers love this sort of stuff. Other folks, not so much.
Hopefully in time for the midterms and 2020.
