Yes. Notice though they where talking about Snowden who really is an idealist. I think they used a bad word "invalided"
That isn't how I would label him because he can be very useful still as a spokes person.

My impression is that without more, the cipher guesser yields more than one answer, the guesser yields ambiguity. The bigger the dictionary, the more guesses satisfy the given pattern.

"They" didn't necessarily use "invalided," that result is a guess delivered by the guessing program combined with a dictionary referred to by the guessing program.

It's possible that NONE of the guesses is correct.
