No cures? Really? Anything? Anyone? I’ve forgotten what silence sounds like.
That's the best cure for now - forget the notion of silence.
Everybody's manifestation of tinnitus is different, of course. What I have done is convince myself that the sound I hear is the exact same as the crickets and night sounds in the woods at night I remember well as a kid.
So, when I focus on my tinnitus, I merely feel nostalgia for great times camping in the woods.
“Ive forgotten what silence sounds like.”
Same here. I developed Tinnitus in my late 60’s and it is slowly getting worse. Can’t hear above 8K Hz. There is no cure and no insurance coverage for costly masking devices, simply because Tinnitus is a SYMPTON not an illness.
:-(
21+ years... no silence.
I hear yuh....
I play ocean music at night to cover mine...
Silence is an enemy, but quiet can be nice. Fill your life with background sound - radio, tv, music, open windows. When I’ve had an especially stressful sound day there are actually things that bring relief - the ocean, a strong wind through the trees or the music of Joel Styzens (a musician who suffers from tinnitus).
Best wishes finding relief.
Sometimes it sounds like an FT-4A at military power, I get 3 or 4 tones going in both ears sometimes. SCREAMING sometimes. Beyond the initial damage, pain killers, NSAIDS, anti-depressants are definitely involved and are usually listed side effects of a large amount of pharmaceutical meds.
High quality Ginko worked for me. Then, cut down on salt and sugar.
