Me too, my grandmother made sandwiches with the thinnest slice of meat and a cake layer of mayo. She had grown up quite poor. I wouldnt eat her sandwiches then and hated the mayo. But I did grow to love it.
Fresh from the garden warm homegrown tomatoes sliced and put on a sandwich with mayo and turnkey bacon and lettuce. Mmmmm. (I make mine with iceberg lettuce as the bread)
Nothing like a BLT (Bacon well done) with extra Mayo. YUUUUMMMMMY...

I will eat just tomatoes on toast with mayo - lots of salt and pepper - all Summer. Best lunch ever.
