Sadly, that makes perfect sense - I never understood the push to medicate EVERYBODY. And then the counter studies revealing medicines frequently do not address the problem for which they were prescribed. For example, studies that show many medications are prescribed for depression yet there is no evidence those medications help depression. Then the push to describe most Americans having “untreated” depression. I do know people who are helped by such medicines but I also know people who feel they are being pressured to medicate themselves for lesser temporal distress. :(
