That may not have helped her. I think US intelligence has been capturing radio transmissions since long before they got into tapping everybody’s phones and computer activity.
Thanks, ichabod1, it is clear that she was indeed seeking to avoid the gendarmes, but that somehow her thinking was faulty.... or she thought she was protected/immune to enforcement.
