Your simple explanation is the best one yet. I also suspect that secret pardons were put into place. POTUS choose not to release the information, rather allowed the system to work against those that were trying their best to do him in. Mr. Sessions has a judicial history of keeping his work very close to his vest with devastating results.

Thank you. Jeff Sessions is 71 years old, his entire life has been that of an extremely effective man enforcing the law and upholding the constitution, without scandal.

Why anyone would believe he has now done a complete 180 to support the deep state and to thwart President Trump mystifies me.
