The Morning Floof is rather late this morning, but that’s OK. I got to watch two episodes of Death In Paradise while I was waiting.
Good morning. Yesterday, I was able to watch a full season of Father Brown and the first episode of Horatio. As to that particular program, I have to say it was “gripping.” Not exciting as some movies are, but it was difficult to not ask, “I wonder what will happen next?”
I also got one letter written this morning, but I’ve decided that rather than try and cram all my letter writing into one day as I have in the past, I’ll just do one a day and maybe a card or two, since they are easy to get off, and let the person know I’m thinking of them.
Last night, I woke up around 2100 and it took quite a while for me to fall back to sleep. I thought I was going to have a hard time waking up, but no — 0215 and I was ready to face the day. Well, after the shower, anyway.
Chuck the manager put up a bracket for the flagstaff, and the only place he could put it was on the edge of the decorative shutter. I took the trash out yesterday and realized the bracket was just slightly askew! I somehow don’t think it will matter. All that matters is that I can fly the flag once again. <3
Oh, Moosie, thank you! How kind of you to remember us traitorous Colonials!
Does GB celebrate a “Memorial Day?” I know about VE Day but I don’t recall any other days to honor the dead.
Remembrance Sunday. On or about November 11.
All was not as it appears in 1776.... :)
Ah. OK. Thanks. That’s our Veteran’s Day. Memorial Day is for the Fallen.
Today is my mom’s birthday. She was born in 1908.
And no, to answer the obvious question, we’ve stopped celebrating her birthday, but I still remember.
My mother was also born in 1908, but she was born in January. And I too, remember her. Because dynamite comes in small packages!
Good to hear that you got your flag up!
Thank you for beautiful Sunday kitteh!
Thank you! I was very patriotic at church today, with tiny little heart-shaped flags for earrings and red, white and blue scarf from the Dollar Tree. I was sorry to see only three men sported patriotic ties, and I was the only woman to be attired in the national colors. :o[
Compared to Henderson, about half the congregation would be wearing the colors. However, I’ll dress appropriately on all the Sundays preceding days I can fly the flag in honor of our living or fallen patriots. They all deserve a tribute!
You betcha.
Afternoon! We’re back from our long weekend in the blistering heat. It’s not the end of the world, if you’re in shape, wear appropriate clothing, use sunscreen, and drink lots of water.
For my next trick, I’ll take Pat and James to church for youth group. They’re supposed to have a bonfire; I wonder if they’ll call it on account of heat and do karaoke in the sanctuary instead.
Worn out from three days out in the heat. At least we weren’t trying to sell anything: it was a tough weekend for vendors.
Tomorrow is Frank’s birthday. Anoreth and Bill may come over for a cookout.
Well, THERE’s a message for ArGee!!!
Had heard on the news the SE was having a heatwave.
Happy birthday to Frank. :)
Good morning, epople. I’ll be back in a minute with a kitten.
I’ll be back in 40 minutes with some wet laundry!
