Ford and Fiat/Chrysler shifted hard into trucks, but after an initial upward bounce, everything went to pot. Take a look at the hit to Ford stock if you don't concur. EVs have an advantage in the number of parts needed to build a vehicle, (lower production cost) and markups on ICE cars in general are lower than on trucks, so we won't be seeing any further attempts at building (or continuing to build) higher-fuel-economy sedans of any kind. EVs also have a flat-on-the-floor performance advantage.

Not so difficult to increase sales from near zero. EVs are a long way from dominance .Cars of any kind aren’t going away, but are dropping in sales share for ICs. EVs are still a niche vehicle though
