President Trump tweeted on Sunday that border security officials continued their "full efforts ... to stop the onslaught of illegal aliens" attempting to travel to the U.S. southern border via a large migrant caravan — while also describing such caravans as "a disgrace to the Democrat Party."
"People have to apply for asylum in Mexico first, and if they fail to do that, the U.S. will turn them away," Trump tweeted. "The courts are asking the U.S. to do things that are not doable!"

Trump drew a big red line in the sand the other day, now watching what he does. Close the border? Deploy troops to secure it? Cut funding to these countries? Or roll over like last time earlier this year?

The idea that as soon as some alien places a toe on US territory that automatically entitles him to stay in the US and be lawyered up and provided with everything he needs and afforded all the protection of our constitution is suicidal madness on our part.
His best shot was convincing Mexico to stop them, but it seems Mexico listens to others more than our government.
No fault of Trump's, but there's nothing he can do on this one really... the laws are rigged in favor of an open border, and there's no time to stop this particular staged event.
The optics of US Marines pointing guns at poor innocent "families" in some kind of a face-off would be devastating politically... the Dems would love this scenario.
Our only option is to someday win back Congress and fix these darned laws.

He can call for a joint session of Congress and ask that all immigration laws be suspended for this group since it is an invasion and should be treated as such.

Which makes a sad situation that the country that fancies itself the world’s most powerful is utterly helpless to stop an invasion.
In fact the President has Constitutional authority to enforce the immigration laws that are already on the books on his own.

Practically everyone who has lived in New York City their entire life believes this to be true. Why would DJT be any different? This perversion of the Constitution (which clearly grants the Presidency enumerated powers equal to the strength of the Congress and the Courts) has probably been a part of DJT's historical perspective all his life. And it will be FATAL to the survival of America if it is NOT revised quickly.

I think the best thing for Trump to do at this moment is to install a 50 ft tall wall of concertina wire at the border crossing and close it.
It IS an invasion, so why is it referred to as a “caravan?” Words have meaning.
If the courts are allowed to have their way we'll have open borders and be overrun in no time.
