Our "leaders" decent and tons VERY indecent in a list of ways--have been super excessive about secrecy etc. for decades.
It is very overdue for the pendulum to swing the other direction for a good long time.

good comments on Andrew McCarthy’s article re: Trump
Those would be good changes, alright.
In some respects, I think a lot of secrecy--don't know what %--is delusional arrogance.
Most individuals think that those around them do not know their ugly parts much at all. Sometimes they don't. But in my experience, most of the time, co-workers, relatives, closer friends--at least the discerning, intuitive types--know, sense or at least have a good guess.
Most of us are a lot more open books than we could ever imagine.
I wonder if a similar phenomenon is somewhat true in terms of state secrets. Collect enough public data and a lot of decent inferences can be made.
Thanks for the generously kind words, Jocko Manning.
Great spiel!!!
DON’T FORGET THE BUTTER!!!
LOL!
*not forgetting the butter, I promise!*
Thanks for our kind affirmation. Elites are happy to denigrate the common person. But in my experience, a good collection of average or slightly above such folks typically demonstrate a lot of collective reason and wisdom.
Thanks Oorang
Thanks, Oorang.
John4.11, check out what Oorang posted above.
Then plan on living at least another 50 years. Your view of secrets in today's world is childish at best. When you get a clearance, you don't get a 'book' of all the secrets at that level. There are many 'classifiers' as the originators, so there isn't even one large book of 'secrets'. One thing that isn't secret is that the classification process does hide 'bad' things, incompetence etc. Not a perfect world and is certainly isn't run by perfect individuals. Nonetheless, the President can declassify if he knows. Elect good people there and the system can function better.
Q and to the extent you believe Pres Trump is using Q has said 40% public. Do you trust the President to act in a manner consistent with his charge? If you do, then this call for the outpouring of 'secrets' despite that in his judgement that they would be de-stabilizing is the same as crying about if we are 'there' yet. Knowing what he knows, I doubt he views it as nothing less than a burden as the things hinted at are sickening. Even folks hereabouts who have/had high clearances are required to keep their mouths shut. You don't get extra money and some of what you know may not to your liking, but with the knowledge comes the requirement.
Sufficiently true, alright. And I do mostly trust Trump to make wise decisions. I also expect him to be somewhat human.
Then understand when he doesn't declass everything.
Feet-stomping-on-the-bleachers, applauding like a wind-up monkey AGREE!!
I don’t recall ever saying “everything” oh you who are so OCD meticulous about details! LOL. Sigh.
Trump has missed his opportunity.
Anything he comes up with now looks desperate. Unless he has photos of Hillary drinking virgin blood, no one is going to trust him.
I wish hed been able to get all of this done. But I believe its too late.
I do believe POTUS can be given to playing 11th hr 59th minute crowd the limits games.
Certainly the window of opportunity will not be open forever.
Very interesting.
Then what was your %. I know what you are talking about, read you long enough.
oh you who are so OCD meticulous about details!
My life's work was about details, letting 'details' slide means people get hurt or killed.
