bitt, I was over at The Forbidden City walking around and ran across an anon with a link to a mil training exercise involving many C-130 AF transports and it rang a bell.
I posted it at 1245, link below, and found your links above at 867 just a minute ago. Now I’m no longer haunted and can go to sleep. :)

The operation looks like a regular training exercise according to the article posted at 1245 and nothing nefarious. Unless, of course, it is. :)
