Iconic Swiss chocolate becomes Halal to conform with Islamic purity law
Voice of Europe ^ | 12/18/18

Toblerone, the iconic triangular shaped chocolate bars have been made halal to meet the demands of the Islamic market.

The change, that silently took place in April this year, has now been revealed to Swiss newspaper Blick. Owned by the American food company Mondelez, all Toblerone bars are being produced in the Swiss city of Bern.

A spokeswoman of the company explains to Blick that since April the sweets comply with the Islamic purity law and ingredients and production now meet halal standards.

She says the “Toblerone’s original recipe remained unchanged”. She justifies the change with Toblerone’s status as export product: 97 per cent of the bars are exported to other countries.

Specifically the halal certification means that the production process must be inspected and approved by imams as being in line with Islamic standards

Is this ceremony required of the chocolate? I am not aware of any need to sacrifice animals in its manufacture.

I guess i can say I no longer will be handing these out to the kids in family his year, something I’ve done the past 5 years. If I did it would be the same as if I were handing out chocolate made to the specifications of KKK doctrine, ain’t do that either.

**I am of the opinion that Christians should NOT consume ANYTHING that is “halal” but especially halal meats.**

Ask no questions but for conscience sake. However, if the person selling the meat declares “This is Halal!” then back away and don’t eat. To do so makes you appear to support moslem nonsense.

On the other hand, I have no problems with Kosher products.

Not eating ANYTHING that’s been near those people.

Not even if they were just standing around “observing” it being made.

Great way to poison people.

There’s a halal slaughterhouse 11 miles from me.
It’s on the back road to another town.
I’ve seen semis filled with terrified, screaming goats heading there.

It’s a horrible place of terror and death.

Eat only pork.

That’ll never be ‘halal’.

Or, you could bless it in the name of God and make the sign of the cross, over the meat, right in front of them.

:)

Not as bad as the way they do it.

A bolt to the head and their troubles are over.

Halal animals, it’s just beginning.

Sacrificed = The animal has it's throat slit and dies a slow and painful death screaming in agony.

Basically the same rules for slaughter as kosher.

In today's world laws of economics are more powerful than the laws of ancient religions.

If you study some of the practices of Judaism & Islam you quickly see that Islam is a very very bad copy of Judaism.

No argument, but from what I know the halal and kosher animal slaughter requirements are very similar.

Sign of the cross means nothing, I doubt they’d mind.

Just recite revelations to them heh.

They are probably Kosher too. The issue is pure ingredients and not meat products in to the candy. Which All chocolates are dairy only.
Not a big issue
