I don’t believe that the globalists will try to mount a coup, they know that they face too much opposition and that it could be the end of them as a result. They will just try to diminish Trump’s impact as much as possible, try to win the 2020 election then repeat if necessary.
This would not rule out some random actor taking matters into his own hands, of all the presidential assassination attempts since Lincoln, I only see JFK and possibly Reagan (Hinckley) as orchestrated, the rest were the actions of lone wolves.
They could, as suggested in the OP, mount an attempt that could be passed off as random, but I think they know that in this day and age, it would be very difficult to sell that and keep all links hidden. Also, they have to remove both Trump and Pence, to succeed, and with Pence they have not even the faintest grounds to proceed legally, so in some ways they accomplish nothing by removing Trump, although we would tend to view Pence as a less committed anti-globalist perhaps.
