When does Barr get voted out of committee? Can there be a vote by the whole senate by Friday? Can he be “read in” to things while he’s awaiting confirmation (I believe there are some such provisions also presuming he already has necessary clearances active etc.)?
All should see this article: https://federalnewsnetwork.com/government-shutdown/2019/01/furloughed-feds-wont-be-rifed-if-government-shutdown-extends-past-30-days-omb-says/
My read is that there is standing guidance that the SES is well protected but caveat that guidance could be reissued. I’m also of the mindset of Rush if above post earlier is correct and people are being dissuaded from discussing the possible RIF lest the RATs get restless.
Certainly the shutdown and all the other theater that abounds in this movie sets the stage for SOTU to (once again) be a good place + time for a reality check.
Certainly letting myths & stereotypes ala “Russia” persist and scoundrels abound should not be part of a proper plan ;)
WWG1WGA!
Reed. Steven has a link to an article that addresses this type of furlough. A reorganization is probably not going to happen.
Did you see Thomas Lifson’s new American Thinker article?
It’s cheering.

OMB issues guidance on Reduction in Force layoffs due to partial shutdown
On Barr, TV newser mentioned I believe it was three “weeks”
to the AG vote. Barr has home work to turn in just from Round 1 and #2, and more personal visits to pay homage to the this and that senator.
On the State of the Union. I’m worried it gets no arm-in-arm coverage by the Leftist media coverage, if the Left boycotts it. However, FOX would benefit and I suppose the Left couldn’t let that happen.
