Keith Allen Raniere is the 'leader' of NXIVM (pronounced 'nexium'). NXIVM is an umbrella organization of Executive Success Program (ESP). He was a busted pyramid-schemer from Arkansas back in the late 80s/early 90s.
Coincidentally, Keith Raniere (aka "Vanguard" as he demanded the women call him) got to know the Attorney General of Arkansas at the time. That state Attorney General would later become State Governor. Twice. And President. Twice. Damn the Clintons.
Despite the evident bribery that kept him out of prison in Arkansas, by donating lots of money to Bill Clinton, he was basically exiled from the State of Arkansas.
He re-settled in New York and resumed his pyramid schemes. Only this time, it wasn't merchandise he peddled. It was human flesh.
Then Raniere started plugging himself in (pun intended) to rich people. He found the Bronfman sisters, Clare and Sara. Heiresses to the Seagram's billions amassed by their daddy. He floated in circles with the Cuomos, Schumers, Clintons, everyone in NY politics. Raniere even recruited Gillibrand's family (she'd rather not talk about that). For sex and money. Quite the NY pimp. (yes, Kirsten Gillibrand and her dad were involved in a sex cult that branded their members and procured young Latin girls and boys, and compliant anglo women, for their clients). Then he needed more.
Same old story. Connect yourself to the Clintons with money and poontang. Get funded with a sugar momma, recruit vulnerable women, then get them to recruit other vulnerable women then brand them. No, really. Brand them with a hot iron. With their master's initials.
Take their money. Expand to Mexico. Hook up with the son of the Clinton and Bush buddy and former Mexican president. Start bringing women and kids into the country.
You know. That old chestnut. Schiff is a piker compared to these people. He's a low level retail consumer that dabbles in wholesale. My opinion. And the reason he's so loud - he's trying to become a made man but he can't stop sampling the merchandise.

Is there anyone behaving bolder than AS, who was purportedly fingered as having a connection or two, in California, to someone inside the Ranier operators, in any way.
Maybe that has all fizzled out? So many investigations and no certainty about who is controlling the procedures and outcomes, because of the number of them.
