I've been using Norelco electric razors since about 1980. Still using them, but my last two units absolutely suck.I have a Norelco and a Remington, and do not like either. It takes me longer to go over the same areas over and over than if I just shave with a razor. I get more irritation with an electric, and they don't shave nearly as close as a razor blade (for me, anyway).
I use one of the Gilette multiblade cartridges with a pivoting handle. Not sure what I will buy in the future.

Norelco’s patents on the three-head floating system expired around a decade ago. I think since that happened they are just mailing it in.

Of course, they could never shave me as close as a blade, but they did a mighty fine job.
Something with the quality has changed.
