Lots of crime and no grocery stores. But Graceland is cool.

I lived in Memphis for a short time in the 1980s. A college student was murdered in her apartment about 100 yards from where I lived. Glad to get out of that place and no desire to go back.

Have seen Graceland. Mud Island and the Pink Palace were interesting but not worth a special trip. As Samuel Johnson would say, "Worth seeing, but not worth going to see."

Lots of more attractive Southern cities to visit.
