Dear fashion people: Please stop trying to make blackface happen.
First it was Prada. Then Gucci. Now, pop star Katy Perry (who, yes, is apparently a fashion designer) is in hot water for selling shoes that evoke intentionally or not the racist imagery.
The styles in question a pair of mules and some high-heeled sandals feature eyes and big red lips, resembling minstrel makeup.
TMZ reports that retailers Dillards and Walmart will pull the offending styles, though not the whole line, from their stores after facing social media backlash...

My husband and I saw this on the local news tonight - the most ridiculous and unnecessarily reactionary thing I’ve seen lately.
Everyone is running around scared to death of their own shadows. It would be funny if it were not a sign of a society verging on insanity and willingly participating in its own doom.
I’m surprised that the classic, white Chuck Taylor hightop hasn’t been tied to “white privilege.”
Katy thought the shoes would be ‘fun’.
And of course, every woman needs a pair of beige shoes as well as a pair of black ones.
(I’d like to see them in bright pink...but if they made them in orange, could we protest?)
Erma Gawd! What a stretch
I’m innocent. I wore red Chucks in Jr. High.
(Oh, No! I just thought of another potentially offended group...I guess I need to register for ‘reeducation’.)
Its quite a witchhunt we got going on here, isn’t that something.
“So the whiteface isnt offensive, right?”
Apparently not.
Can't wait to hear their take on this :
People are starting to see things that aren't there, such as the name of Allah on the Burger King ice cream label.
The shoes are hideous, but they come in more than one color, and this one is a black shoe with a face on it -- not the same as blackface.
Of course, without Col. Northam's Ole Virginny Minstrel Revue, Katy Perry would still be selling her shoes.
The American people aren’t stupid - they are going to thread all of this nonsense back to Democrats, and the raging, radical left line that they’ve decided to toe.
Be patient, and Wait and watch.
I suppose I should issue a mea culpa: when I was 10, my mom used burnt cork to augment my skin for Halloween. I played Willie Mays. He was my first sports hero, and I wore his uniform proudly.
Rolling Stones!
It could be she’s just a dip****.

Things get more bizarre every day, and people do seem to be paying attention. I hope the Dems do pay for it.
Am I a racist?
When I was a kid, going out on Hallowe’en as a tramp or hobo was big. You had to soot-up your face to look properly like one.
I guess we were all guilty as hell of....something.
Yep....mom used her eye make up to make hobo beards on our faces. We wore dad’s old shirts and hats.
Good grief.
Just wait. All of this will backfire bigtime.
What about the whiteface shoe? Will it be pulled? I’m somewhat triggered by that whiteface shoe.

Maybe Perry could make a moccasin.....
