What will Republicans do? If illegals get the right to vote; and Florida and Texas start turning color; and millennials want to play with the fire of socialism; and the democrats make overtures to the Rust Belt; and ballot harvesting continues... then these are legitimate problems for the Republicans. Again, what will they do?
You can only pray that the democrats are too divided and too caught up with Trump derangement so that they are ineffective in capitalizing on these advantages. But it would be a good step for Republicans to start to address these problems.
For example, what are the advantages of a great GDP if half the country dont pay income tax or if the millennials dont care about work? Why is there a growing prosperity divide between the middle class and the very wealthy. What can Republicans do to ensure that access is available to the wealthy class. If access isnt available then socialism seems more attractive in its call to tax the rich. This needs to be addressed effectively.
Any suggestions?
They will go all Juan McLame and tell the hobbits in flyover country to take it up the azz.
I believe unless the Republicans wake up and put the kabosh on illegal voting, voter harvesting and states deciding to give their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote, the Democrats will retake the House and take the Senate and Presidency. Then Schmuer will then declare the Senate to operate on a majority vote and the Republicans will be banned from winning a national election for 20+ years.
Diana says act locally. Great! But what about the national problems of socialism, voter harvesting, illegals voting and the growing prosperity divide between the middle class the wealthy? Any thoughts on solutions — apart from believing that the Republican will cave. Can Trump address these problems effectively?
No need for polling places! Absentee ballots (postage paid) will be provided to all persons over the age of 12 living south of the Rio Grande.
I would have voted no, because it did nothing punitive to the person who made this resolution necessary in the first place. So I don't necessarily condemn the Republicans regardless of how they voted on this issue. It really is a non-issue in the long run.
it's either fight, or give up. It really is up to "we the people", since a representative republic no longer exists and hasn't for quite sometime now. We have morphed into a Democracy, where 3 wolves and a sheep decide what is for dinner.
I predicted the fall of the dem party. Boy was I ever wrong !
The GOP as a party has been a party to this whole thing from the beginning.
They lie to their voters and help the Democrats import fraudulently documented foreigners.
Bush League Republicans MUST become extinct before the Republic does.
We are becoming North Mexico just as George H.W. Bush planned.
We are running out of time.
I think the GW Bush North Mexico plan relied on the Democrats remaining the Democrat Party of Bill Clinton.
But they are morphing into a radical Socialist party, which means the whole scheme really will blow-up in the faces of those who conceived it.
Eventually the Democrat Party will be supplanted by La Raza.
Well stated
The nation is lost, and its history and cultural traditions are being erased. Next to go will be the monetary system will be totally obliterated and replaced with "modern monetary theory". Again, the 'pubs (including President Trump) are complicit for not beginning to pay off the debt and for not balancing the budget.
Those younger generations are primed, by education and actual experience, to have the attitude of money being no big deal. Just call anything that's not paid for okay and move on.
They will be the perennial controlled-opposition minority party - just as they have long yearned to be.
Make noise, do nothing, take money, get perks. They will be in their most cherished political paradise.
