Michael Avenatti: Why Beto can’t win Michael Avenatti: Why Beto can’t win
Spectator ^ | 3/17/19 | Michael Avenatti

Beto O’Rourke is many things. But he is definitely not a fighter. And that’s why it would be a huge mistake for the Democrats to nominate him to take on President Trump in 2020 for the White House. Simply put, Beto cannot beat Donald Trump. Someone else, maybe. But not Trump.

It’s not Beto’s fault he’s not a fighter. After all, he’s led a very charmed, privileged life as a white male. He’s faced very little adversity. He didn’t come from nothing. He didn’t have to fight and scrape his way to the top because of his gender or race or economic circumstances. He has no experience doing battle in high-stakes business or leading tough negotiations. He hasn’t ever fought for working people in contentious situations.

I understand why he says he wants his campaign to be only positive: he hates confrontation, because he has so little experience in it. He doesn’t like to get his uniform dirty.

Sadly, you can’t beat Trump by preaching about puppies and daisies and reciting poetry. Being positive and singing Kumbaya doesn’t work. You beat Trump only by getting down in the gutter with him, taking an enormous amount of punishment but giving more than you take. My fear is that by putting Beto up against Trump, the Democrats would be choosing one of the few politicians in America who could elevate Trump, both as a man and as a fighter. That’s because, for all Beto’s good looks, energy and enthusiasm, he comes across as a cheerleader. And a cheerleader doesn’t beat Trump.

Let me explain. Donald Trump is in many ways the kryptonite for the Democratic party.

And who’s the tough on the Democratic side who is up for this fight? Warren? Booker? Harris? A small army of lightweights.

He’s a straight white male.

But, but, he is a fake hispanic. Does that count?

True, but what exactly is Avenetti saying here? That O’Rourck is not a fighter because he came from wealth, is a white male, and given this profile has never had to struggle so he is incapable of fighting. The problem with attributing O’Rourck’s weakness to his demographics is that he shares those demographics with the man that Avenetti has identified as a capable fighter. So Avenetti’s argument makes no sense, and in fact he has exposed the flaw in the Democrats endlessly repeated talking point while trying to brown-nose his way back into relevancy.

If having sex with a Muslim is a criteria for the voting age then the voting age could be as low as nine (9), and I fear, must lower....

Only if he's running against a Republican.

O'Rourke wants a positive-only because he's covering up a deep neurosis from growing up in a dysfunctional family caught up in border state cartel operations.

Various sites on the internets connect dots across the O'Rourke family that are not favorable to a Presidential run. Many of the sites are of dubious pedigree, but even a review of Snopes contains the major threads that the dots are connected through. There are even newspaper clippings that prove that the basic factual incidents occurred, if not the imputed motives or dot connections.

The allegations are that:

  1. His father, a county judge in El Paso, was on the take. He was pulled over one night and drugs were found in his car. Police destroyed the evidence, claiming it was planted (see the newspaper clip linked above). Violent crime increased dramatically during his tenure as a county judge, as evidenced by this local TV station report. Finally, his was killed in a suspicious hit-and-run accident, where he was run over by a pickup truck while bicycling.
  2. His now father-in-law William Sanders was involved in the Paso Del Norte Group, which also held properties on the other side of the border in he Ciudad Juarez area of Mexico. Beto/Robert was a councilman in El Paso at the time that the Paso Del Norte Group was forming, and refused to recuse himself from city council proceedings.
  3. His mother ran a furniture store suspected of laundering cartel drug money. From Snopes, "In 2010, Charlotte’s Inc., an El Paso furniture store company started by O’Rourke’s grandmother in 1951, was convicted of “structuring transactions to evade reporting requirements, a tax-related felony. The company was charged as a corporate entity, but the Congressman’s mother, Melissa O’Rourke, acted as its authorized representative... In total, Charlotte’s and its employees illegally restructured $630,000 in payments, all from one customer, in this way between May 2005 and October 2006. The identity of that customer is not known."

Add to this his several DUI's, fleeing the scene of an accident, odd childhood poetry writings, and belonging to a teen computer hacking club, and it all paints a picture of someone who was crying out for help for his entire life.

However sympathetic one might be to someone coming from such an unhealthy upbringing, Robert O'Rourke should be kept far, far away from the Presidency of the United States.

I know some of what yours and others here, what their “white privilege” has meant.

It sickens me that they include folks like you and others who have seen hard times in this nonsense.

Not that you would ever complain.

That’s my job lol.

I have never been the stoic type :)

That’s a good example. And we know they’d be coached on who to vote for.

I didn’t want to see him crisp up so I quit watching after the other guy poured the gas on his legs.

If you are old enough for an abortion without your parents consent, or old enough to marry and have sex with a Muslim, then you should be able to vote.
....................................
Is it your age or have you always been this ignorant? Brides in the Muslim world can be as young as 3 years old! In any event, you will no doubt be happy to hear that some Democrat moron in the D.C. swamp wants to introduce a bill that would permit children 10 years old to vote!
