K-pop is fine but there are big misconceptions about the stars:
They neeeever get rich. A lot of them never even make average incomes. Developing them into stars is expensive —it’s like a loan.
When they make it (unlikley), the vast majority of their income is confiscated.
The contracts are totally crazy, far beyond the leverage common in Hollywood.
Again I have no problem with K-pop and I LOVE Korea.
But, yeah.
It’s the same with all those rap stars you see touting their bling.
That “bling” is owned by the record companies.
