NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — By now, most Democratic presidential candidates have polished their stump speeches. But when they’re in South Carolina, they may need to add in a sermon.

In a large and diverse primary field, White House hopefuls are angling to develop relationships with black churches. That’s because success in South Carolina, home to the nation’s first Southern presidential primary, could come down to connecting with politically influential churchgoing African Americans.

“Candidates recognize that black churches are the places to be seen and heard,” said Bobby Donaldson, a professor of civil rights history at the University of South Carolina. “If you’re trying to find a captive and captivating audience, then the black church is the perfect place to get your message across.”

I'm trying to remember something about separation of church and state. Dang, it is there, just beyond the realm of memory.

Just the mere presence of some of these Democrat filth should require the re-sanctification of the building.

what kind of minister would allow satan’s proxies inside the church anyway?

The black church has become the kept woman of the democratic party; anything the party asks of it, it gets (support for abortion, gay rights, removing God from the public arena, etc.)

If faith without works is dead, then the American black church (unlike the African church) died long ago.

I suspect, and certainly hope, that it would be kept out of the church.

Can you imagine the Leftist caterwauling that would take place if Pres. Trump made it a practice to do campaigning in predominantly White Baptist churches across the South? All hell would break loose about the Wall Separating Church and State, which is found nowhere in the Constitution, but apparently only applies to White churches.

President Trump Vows To Repeal Johnson Amendment At National Prayer Breakfast
Daily Caller | 02/02/17

President Trump once again vowed to repeal the Johnson Amendment Thursday morning at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

The president said he would “totally destroy” the federal tax law from 1945 that prevents tax-exempt groups, like churches, from endorsing or opposing political candidates.

“Jefferson asked, ‘Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?’ Among those freedoms is the right to worship according to our own beliefs,” Trump told the audience. “I will get rid of and totally destroy the Johnson Amendment and allow our representatives of faith to speak freely and without fear of retribution.”

“I want to express clearly today to the American people that my administration will do everything in its power to defend and protect religious liberty in our land,” he continued. (snip)

Should be interesting watching the mental gymnastics of the preachers when Buttigay shows up in one of those Black South Carolina Churches.

It might be a Bridge Too Far to deliver the block votes in 2020.

I may be wrong, and I may be a bit cynical, but if a gay white Democrat promises all kinds of goodies to black people who oppose homosexuality due to religious beliefs, I suspect that they will suddenly become enlightened and accept his views.
