Steele's stunning pre-FISA confession: Informant needed to air Trump dirt before election © Getty Images If ever there were an admission that taints the FBI’s secret warrant to surveil Donald Trump’s campaign, it sat buried for more than two-and-a-half years in the files of a high-ranking State Department official.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec’s written account of her Oct. 11, 2016, meeting with FBI informant Christopher Steele shows the Hillary Clinton campaign-funded British intelligence operative admitted that his research was political and facing an Election Day deadline.
And that confession occurred 10 days before the FBI used Steele’s now-discredited dossier to justify securing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page and the campaign’s ties to Russia.
Steele’s client “is keen to see this information come to light prior to November 8,” the date of the 2016 election, Kavalec wrote in a typed summary of her meeting with Steele and Tatyana Duran, a colleague from Steele’s Orbis Security firm. The memos were unearthed a few days ago through open-records litigation by the conservative group Citizens United.

Wray was a pick by Chris Christie during his short stay as head of the transition team. Wray was Christie’s personal lawyer and pal. The Trump team erred in not dumping everyone connected to Christie.
I have disliked Wray since his confirmation hearing and since then I have grown to hate him.

It really is shocking how little of the executive branch POTUS controls. It seems the bureaucracy is in open rebellion knowing President Trump has little power to replace Senate confirmed positions given the media fueled beltway theater firestorms it would create.

I’m betting when Trump finally gets around to declassifying all this garbage Wray will show his true colors. He will refuse and appeal to every scumbag democrat chaircreature, judge and stooge reporter to help him block declassification.
I think there is a requirement that documents, when classified, must be marked as to when the classification is to be lifted. I also think that 25 years is simply the default when no other criteria exists for a greater or lesser time period.
It's possible that the classification was due to the fact that Kavalec and the four recipients of the memo are under investigation. Maybe there's a path back to Hillary herself. That could be fun.
I would like to know who nominated Kavalec for an ambassadorship. Was it Trump? If so, then it would be quite telling that Trump withdrew the nomination.
The one statement I hear repeated over and over that irritates me is that Steele hated Trump and that personal hatred prompted him to construct the dossier.
I think that is nonsense. A Brit who despises Trump? What dog does he have in the fight?
Steele was a hired gun. The one who hired him is John Brennan, the evil head of the CIA. He summoned Steele to do something he would have done himself, but couldn’t.
This is diversion. Has to be. I put a tinfoil hat on and all I could come up with is cloward-piven. Trump is being attacked from all directions.
The immigration system is shot, health care is barely holding on, disease is once again on the rise, we are being drawn to the middle east and the China trade deal could go south. And to top it all off, the Democrats are killing it on the domestic front. They really, really cannot be that stupid.
And it is all being fed by a rapid MSM, but financed by whom?
