THE furry star of the 2019 remake of Pet Sematary has died just weeks after the movie was released.
Leo the Cat captured audiences' hearts in the film adaptation of Stephen King's 1983 novel.
His mysterious death was confirmed by animal trainer Kirk Jarrett on Leo's Instagram account, after he adopted the cat shortly after filming.
He wrote: "It is with great sadness that we tell you that Leo has passed away.
"He will be forever missed by his human and fur family. May his star always shine bright."
The Maine Coon cat was one of four felines used to play Church in the horror flick.

CBS All Access is doing a new miniseries of the book, which will probably air sometime in 2020.
That was a depressing and scary movie......”Church” the cat and the little boy’s fate put me in a sad mood for weeks. I’ll never forget it and as evidenced by Stephen King losing his marbles lately I wonder if his “mind” wasn’t on it’s way out when he wrote that movie.......;)
Almost all of his books did that to me. I swear than man is demon possessed. :-) Who thinks up stuff like that?
I agree and then to turn around and do something entirely different like “Dolores Clairborne”. I loved that movie, I guess I’m nuts but it demonstrated that some people have their comeuppances in the most delightful ways and good people really do win.......;)
Maybe that’s why it messed me up. It wasn’t so much a scary movie as it was a kind of sick movie.
And he is a kind of sick guy.
I liked that one too.
Thanks.
Hopefully they put it on broadcast TV.
Why do they feel compelled to remake successful old movies? The remake almost never equals the original.
