Eggstein would be the only dome dweller(concrete or otherwise) in this hemisphere that I know of with his tricked out gold topped dome thingy down there.
I guess if we swamp critters were sensible Jose, we would move from hurri-cane alley or at least have a back up hacienda like Eggs had out west in the desert.
There are lots of dome homes. And one concrete dome home building company—based in the South somewhere. Maybe in Fla. I forget. They enclose the most living space per square footage of material used to enclose the living space. They are efficient regarding heating as well. One does need to break up the large inner volume with walls, sound deadening materials etc. to avoid standing waves of sound that cause discomfort & irritation if allowed to propagate & maintain. And some folks fuss about difficulties with closets & cabinets because of the sloping walls.
I realize that ‘sensible’ housing has a ton of factors impacting housing decisions. A major one is inertia. LOL.
