Thanks for the deep dive on Antarctica.  I've often wondered what motivates the elites and religious leader to pay homage to the South Pole? Mining and all military activities are forbidden by treaties but during the summer months more then 4,000 research scientist are working at various research stations.  Is climate change just a cover story for those that must go to Antarctica?  I felt compelled to run "Admiral Byrd" in my search engine after reading your report and then quickly decided not to go there.  That rabbit hole looks to be bottomless.
