“Windfall profits” is leftist babble. Absolutely nobody was bitching when oil prices were $10 - $15 a barrel in the 80s and these evil oil companies were taking it on the nose. I hope they make more money than the entire nation of France.
Windfall profits was a term invented in the 70’s to bash the oil companies. Guess which party started that? It was an effort to raise taxes on the oil companies which would have passed right along to the price of fuel at the pump. Another hidden tax on the consumers. Also, the climate fearmongering had to do with the coming ice age.
