When you invite someone into your home, you might consider them to be guests. But what happens when you want them out and they choose to stay?

No rent paid. No lease.

You still must go to court. Meanwhile, you may be out of a home...

She called the cops.

“Cory said you can’t kick us out. You’ll have to get us evicted. We can stay for as long as we want,” said Dubuque. “The police were there when he said this. They said, ‘Yep. If you invited him in.’”

It’s Austin. Trust me, yes it can. It’s the insanity zone of Texas! Great music attract mental liberals! Live in Nashville and it’s getting that way too.

Exactly, but a routine traffic stop will result in a full background check of all records.

It only takes a little imagination to get him to leave.

That would be a nightmare situation that I guess wouldn’t cross people’s minds at the start. [shiver]

That’s when you secretly find “a guy” — a scary one — to have a heart-to-heart with the tresspassers.

“You don’t even have to leave them 10 bucks. You specifically leave them out by name.”

My FIL and MIL specifically left MIL’s daughter from a prior marriage out of their will. She was an evil bitch, and even was suspected of offing her grandmother for an inheritance, but never was proven, though.

Anyhow, FIL died, then MIL about five years later, and we were working with their estate attorney. Even though specifically left out, a strong effort had to be made to locate the daughter, advise her of her mother’s death, and give her an opportunity to challenge the will. There were newspaper notices, registered letters, etc., and we had to wait six months in case she showed up. (Since she had a less-than-positive relationship with the law, we figured that when someone tried to deliver it, she refused.)

We never heard a thing from her, but it did create some angst for us. This was in California in 2016.

Yeah and at the traffic stop a lot of the time theyre just fishing when they know you did nothing wrong and will hold you up and try to make it sound you are a criminal. Here when somebody really needs their help they automatically take side of the crook and do do nothing.

Must have been a long 6 months. That’s why the lawyers advise leaving small nominal amount. Still all beneficiaries will be notified in a will. Trust probably better.

If they are left 10 or 100 bucks can’t say they were disinherited. Gloria Vanderbilt disinherited one of her sons.

She’s 83? Life’s too short for such things, especially the stress.

Does she have sufficient means to live without that house?

If so, then forgive, forget and move on.

Write the kid out of the will and simply donate the house to him today, right now.

It’s his life, his problems and it will be his house, too.

And, assuming he can pay the taxes and insurance and all the rest, then he can keep it. If not? Another lesson.

This way she is free from him, free from the house, free from the stress and free from all the rest, too.

Win with generosity!

What happened to “a man’s home is his castle”? I knew they pulled this crap in the U.K., but I didn’t know it was the law here, too. Is it a federal, state, or local thing?

If you want to commit murder to the people you invited into your home, go for it. I am sure a Jury will gladly give you 20 to life for it.

Sorry, you can’t legally invite people into your and then shoot them. That isn’t self defense, that is called murder.

Learn the difference.

They don’t. They believes that the State owns everything including the people and they are the State. But that is what the current generation wants. For them to be the slaves and the Government to be their master. I am just hoping that we can hold them off until I die.

I can’t imagine anyone doing that. What a world. Boy, she must sleep with one eye open. I can’t imagine living peacefully in a house acquired in such a way. Shameful.

BTW, I’m fine, and hope you’re doing splendidly as well!

They have embrace the theories of Karl Marx, which have failed and led to human misery time after time after time.

Any intelligent person can see at a glance that Marx's ideas would not work, but evil and unscrupulous people can see at a glance that they can use the theories to dupe the unintelligent into giving them a cushy life of privilege as their rulers.

How do people not know this stuff. Two weeks. If someone stays with you for 14 days (I think it’s in a 6-month period), they become a tenant. If they collect mail at your resdence, it IS their home of record.
