SF may not have large areas with brush and grass, trees etc right next to power lines and transformers where big fires could spread.

My best friend in El Dorado County is having her electricity turned off today for at least 3 days. They have a wood stove and are pretty well prepared for stuff. But many people are not, live in apartments, etc. I assume elevators run with electricity. And C-pap machines, etc.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All those security systems on stores, and homes, not working right now. Gas pumps dead. Peeps who keep a second freezer in the garage, peeps who take medications that must be refrigerated, water pumps not working for days means no water pressure - days and days of power outage. “Officials” are saying things that make it sound like it could be longer than stated duration.
Just got email from friend - turns out electricity was cut last night, she went down to Sacramento so was able to email me from phone. I guess her whatever phone doesn’t even work up in the foot hills for some reason? Another couple of days off she thinks.
