I’m done with these a-holes. 30+ years of bleeding blue, and the they put in Kershaw, the worst post season pitcher ever? “ Thanks for getting us here this year, you’re on the bench because something is wrong with your post-season head.”. Maeda saves the inning, but you sit him down and put in Kelly? Kelly has sucked all year!!! Duck the Fodgers!!! I’m done! I hope they never win another game for the rest of my life. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!

I was celebrating the end of the Yom Kippur fast at my relatives’ and they are Hard Core dodger fans. It was very somber in that place as the 9th inning came around.

Don’t know if Mgr. Roberts survives this. He pulled the only guy getting outs from the pen in both games 4 and 5 when the games were both tied. That would be Kenta Maeda whom is normally a starter and could easily have gone three innings, but Roberts pulled him after 1 inning. And compared to Seager and Pollock, Kenta wasn’t a batting liability he hit .250 during the year.

The Nats are going to St Louis, they ain’t won crap yet. Just a ticket to the Cards den. Remember what Yogie said, and we don’t even have a fat lady picked yet. I figure Miklos and Wainwright not sure whose gonna go first should be a great series. This is the post season and why we watch. It’s fall and lots reasons to smile. As McCarver says, it’s the big leagues man.

Maybe there is a curse on the Dodgers. Always favored. Never win. Like Atlanta.

Good for the Nats. Hope Dodger fans are forced to relive that grand slam for thirty years. From an A’s fan who hates Kirk Gibson.

Even as the Expos, their playoff victories were spotty. They beat the Phillies in 1981 in a division series made necessary by a baseball strike that year, otherwise they would have finished second in their division. Then they got their hearts broke by, ironically, the Dodgers on a Rick Monday homer in Game 5 at home.

In 1994, they had the best record in their division but their season was halted by another baseball strike and the postseason was cancelled with the champion vacated.

So, they made one postseason by fluke and lost another postseason by fluke. That was all they accomplished before moving to DC.

Now, Howie Kendrick can run for mayor.

Think that's bad? Be a Univ. of Houston fan that has to see that Derek Whittenberg desperation heave get redirected into the basket by Lorenzo Charles at the buzzer before every stinkin' NCAA tournament game for 30+ years!

Cheering for Washington. Was tired and listened in bed on old fashioned AM radio (ESPN on WEEI 850 Boston)
and drowsily heard the slam etc. “And this crowd is stunned!”—Jon Sciambi

The Nats have been one of the most consistent quality teams in baseball over the last eight seasons. Their postseason woes are legendary, but injuries have been a big part of that. In that eight year span, they've had at least two and maybe three teams that would have been World Series caliber had they stayed reasonably healthy, but they were gutted by injuries. Injuries are part of the game and everyone gets them, but the Nats have had more than their share.

This season, Rendon and Turner were out early, with Turner missing most of the first half. Ryan Zimmerman missed a majority of the season and has not played enough to find his groove. But Turner and Rendon came back for a terrific second half, and Strassburg is healthy in October. That's lighting striking: Strass is healthy in October! For once.

The bullpen is still a dumpster fire. That will probably catch up to them. But it's been one of the greatest turnarounds of all time since their disastrous start. This team is mentally tough. They were dead and buried in June, yet here they are.

I don’t like the Nats, but they played well for this. It’s especially good to see them do this without Bryce Harper.
