If I were able to speak to the “journalists” and editors at this newspaper I would love to ask them this question:
“If it was a black or Hispanic couple leaving the hockey game who were attacked by a large group of white “juveniles”, would you have mentioned the race of the perpetrators of the crime?”
Is there any doubt?
This ‘white privilege’ and ‘white guilt’ narrative is everywhere. It's on the news, it's in the literature, it's in movies and television, it's taught from early education on - and at the universities, it's spouted by politicians and liberal activists ubiquitously, and it's codified in movements like ‘Black Lives Matter’.
It's not an innocuous narrative. It's a simplistic, hateful, racist narrative that has and will continue to lead to violence and hatred. It has to be challenged, and it has to stop.
