What was his name?

My “tool cat” was a fixed female named Griffey. Had to put her down at age 17. She lived outdoors all her life and longed for me to come outside, get my tools and work on something. She would sit and watch and purr.

Like a good dog, she would hear my vehicle coming home 100 yards away and come a-runnin’.

My best cat, Jean-Marie did the same. He could tell a Slant-Six engine apart from all the others. These creatures insinuate themselves into your psyche. They make life better.
