Everything that is odd or unusual by modern standards or not understood is “religious” to archaeologists.

My explanation is much better and does a better cut with the Occam’s Razor.

Crazy People.

Some crazy person started walking around with a wax cone on his/her head and others decided they needed to do that too to be cool like that crazy person.

That’s how you end up with feathers stuck in hair, bones stuck in noses, rings stretching necks, all kinds of crazy.

This just proves that Ancient Egyptians were actually from Mars. They only pretended to be from France.

Come on - they had to have something until tin-foil hats were finally invented!

For some reason the words “Egyptian” and “headcones” makes me think of Steve Martin.

Rather than acknowledge that the shape comes from the head gear itself, for reasons only ancient Egyptians understood, some folks on the History Channel “Ancient Aliens” TV show claim that the shape came from a peculiar shape of the heads of some ancient Egyptian rulers, because those bearing that shape were either aliens or progeny of aliens - aliens from other/another worlds/worlf. I watch the show for comic relief.

Since they were discovered in pieces, the wicks
were long since deteriorated but it’s still possible
that this is the first instance of headlamps found.
