A Florida couple who told police they fed their children a vegan diet of only raw fruit and vegetables was charged with murder Wednesday months after their 18-month old son allegedly starved to death in their home.
Ryan Patrick O’Leary, 30, and Sheila O’Leary, 35, of Cape Coral, were indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree murder and other charges, State Attorney Amira Fox said.
The mother called police on Sept. 27 when police said she said she noticed her 18-month-old son had gone cold and stopped breathing. The father tried to resuscitate him, police said. Paramedics pronounced the boy dead at the home in Lee County when they arrived, Fort Myers News-Press reported.
He weighed 17 pounds, the average weight of a seven-month-old, according to the police report. Sheila O’Leary allegedly told officers the family eats a vegan diet and she fed her children raw fruits and vegetables — mostly mangoes, bananas, avocados, and rambutans. …

Very insightful response nathanbedford. The destruction of the family which began with the “free love” movement in the 60’s and the abortion movement, the loosening of divorce laws have brought us the “single parent” family as the norm in society today.
This affects schools as many want the schools to be surrogate parents, it affects the economic situation of the lower middle class and the poor by aggravating their situation thus promoting more government “solutions”.
The further western society moves away from Judeo-Christian values the more pagan, the more callus, the more seared peoples conscience become. No big secret but your post reminded me of its truth.
We can no longer view a TV program or movie without LGTB, etc being promoted as normal and healthy. I read an article the other day where kids as young as 7 and 8 are becoming addicted to pornography because of their exposure to it through smart phones, cable shows, and obviously the internet. God help us.

They were vegans. And, I have often wondered what happened to that baby. I have since thought about the things I should have said or asked, but didn't.
Why? That would actually be healthy. I say keep them vegan so they die sooner and save the taxpayers the money.

But - in her mind, breast feeding would equate to feeding him animal fats....maybe some women become such “vegans” so they have a ready excuse against “Lewinskis”...
