They squeezed the last milliliter of thala-sirens milk out of this franchize.
*YAWN*
Okay.
Woke go, broke you will go, hmmmmm.... ~ Yoda
You must be a Jim Healy fan.
Disney crapped all over the core of Star Wars. Their totally unnecessary SJW injections and unexplained breaks with previous movies was bad enough.
The fact that they killed off the original characters in an ignoble manner, they also turned them into weaklings and failures in everything they did.
$375 million in 3 days. Somehow I don’t think anybody’s going broke on it.
Ive seen some photos of a baby Yoda.
Is Jar Jar Binks the mother?
The budget including marketing and reshoots was huge on this movie.
Yeah. And it’s already made money on toys. They ain’t losing money on this one. Solo yeah, too much too soon there (which is too bad, that’s a good movie). This one had the rest, and will make the cash. Near a billion. Profits will be had. Though buried, cause it’s Hollywood.
Star Wars has been jumping the shark since Phantom Menace. Not worthy of my time.
Franchise fatigue my butt.
When you not only publicly insult the fans on a regular basis and then make a movie that not only insults the fans but destroys EVERYTHING the franchise stood for then you’ve decided you don’t WANT the audience that made your movies popular and successful to begin with. But of course that’s THEIR fault and not yours.
But boy golly for all that “franchise fatigue” they certainly are making a killing on Baby Yoda merchandise.
IMHO, Star Wars ended with “Return of the Jedi”. Everything since then has been cheap kiddie crap. Ads to sell toys and pajamas.
I went and saw the movie on Saturday with my buddy who is a die hard Disney trilogy fan. I’m a die hard Original fan.
It’s funny, I ended up enjoying the movie more than he did it seems.
The first 60% of it flat out sucked due to poor pacing and rapid scene changing. It is difficult to sit through and enjoy, but I did have some yummy popcorn.
The last part, and basically the scenes that were between Kylo and Rey, I enjoyed.
I never gave a crap about either of these two characters, but the actors did well with what limited material they had to work with here. Driver and Daisy are good actors. I enjoyed Ridley’s performance in this film well more than I enjoyed Natlaie Portman’s performance in the prequels.
I thought the scene with Adam Driver and *** **** was very good. This was my favorite scene of the movie by far.
Overall, I’d give this move a C or C-, the first part just is not redeemable, but the last part allowed me to be entertained and say that overall I had a good time, and I’m glad that I went.
Otherwise, the theater was totally full, noon showing, there was a very small smattering of applause at the end by some people in the theater.
My friend said he felt the movie was rushed, and generally was disappointed.
Have you seen any of The Mandalorian on Disney+?
Now THAT is how to do Star Wars and do it right. Easily the best thing on TV. And so far it's absent any of the SJW crap. Also, it's quite a joy to see Carl Weathers back in action.
I wont be spending another nickel on anything Star Wars or Disney. They lost me years ago.
SJW Wars: The Rise of Soywalker.
