What ‘value’ might exist by attempting to BLOCK ‘PUBLIC’ testimony/hearings?
If the hearings are secret (great for a democratic gov’t, right?) those involved in this evil cannot be named publicly. Hence they cannot be punished publicly, unmasked as it were. They’ll still be able to walk down the street and continue their undermining and grifting (and not be set upon) because to do so would break the agreed to secrecy. Then those who broke the secret would have to be punished.
Would this work?

Exactly. They know what would come and they can’t have that happen. If we are to believe Trump and he does take it the SCOTUS it will still come out.
