Biden Tells Coal Miners To "Learn To Code"

During a rally yesterday, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden spoke to a crowd in Derry, N.H., a town that many miners call home. He acknowledged the economic setbacks and job insecurity that coal miners face these days, and gave them some advice: learn to code.

According to Dave Weigel of the Washington Post, Biden said, “Anybody who can go down 3,000 feet in a mine can sure as hell learn to program as well... Anybody who can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program, for God’s sake!”

According to Weigel, the comment was met with silence from the audience.

Biden's campaign has proposed moving the U.S. away from fossil fuels to reduce the country’s carbon footprint.

Never stop your enemy from destroying himself.

But I really want to ask:

  1. What about someone who's spent his entire adult life leeching off the taxpayer like a parasite? Say, someone who was elected to Congress from Delaware at the ripe old age of 29, and has had nothing (that wasn't blatantly corrupt) to do with the private sector since? Can a worthless piece of parasitic scum like that learn to code, too, Joe?
  2. What can you "code" with after the power goes out because there's no coal to feed the powerplants, and there's not enough renewable energy to go around, and the nukes are all shut down? Computers don't run without juice, and software doesn't run without computers.
  3. Learn to code?? Seriously? So they can have a job that gets offshored or replaced by an H1-B that you Democrat slime (with help from the Republican quislings) import from India?
I "learned to code" 40 years ago, and have been in the software industry my whole adult life. I have also been laid off twice (once so my job could be shipped to India) and have had a largely stagnant career because glib talkers (preferably with MBAs) advance much more rapidly than a quiet, highly-competent engineer in most companies.

I looked it up. The average coder based in India makes around $3,500 a year. Can these coal miners code more cheaply than that?

Even his supporters can’t believe how stupid he really is.

Actually there is merit to this.

None of us wants to hear it, but isn’t this basically what we espouse when it comes to commies insisting all jobs must stay the same? They are the ones insisting on unions to keep the same old jobs rather than moving with technology, etc.

Maybe it’s politically stupid, but honestly, if your job dries up, get another job, even if it is different.

Biden will win the nomination for the 2020 election. And why? Democrats know they are going to lose and Biden is the sacrificial lamb. Warren is too far left for the Democrats and Bernie? Well, he isn’t a Democrats and he will never be nominated to represent their party. And Bernie taking millions from people on this 2nd run is pure deception. Bernie has had 18 months last election of parties and steak dinners, now he’s doing it again, know he is deceiving the people. He’s a con artist. In fact all those running against Trump right now are con artists. They can’t do the job they were elected to do, and they are conning Americans into paying them to party hardy to get another job they can’t do. We really need to change the system

Next we’ll see this headline:

Biden Tells Americans To “Learn Chinese”.

I honestly think the average poster here would be a better leader than this man.

"a town that many miners call home..."

Sorry Joe, I'm not aware of a single operating coal mine in NH.

Joe wasn't thinking of miners, he was actually thinking of minors.

Websters: Minors, noun: a person under the legal age of full responsibility.

Sure. But don't tell me to "learn to code" after your policies have allowed companies to import foreigners by the millions to take those jobs away from Americans.

Hm, could “learn to code” be a metaphor for “die” like Hillary’s “basket of deplorables” is a metaphor for a “concentration camp?”

New Hampshire isn’t exactly “coal country”. I’m pretty sure that Derry NH is mostly home to an infestation of Massholes who have fled north to escape the snarl of regulations they’ve inflicted on their home state, yet who want to remain close enough to Boston to commute to their jobs. I doubt there are any miners at all in Derry, and the few in NH mostly work rock/gravel and sand quarries.

That is the fault of the writer. This has been repeated for many days. He wasn't speaking to miners. It was a general statement about the economy that he mentioned. There was no mining crowd.
