Yes, Jimmy G was amazingly good at handing off the ball yesterday. He did not drop the hand off even once.
His passing percentage was also very good(6 out of 8)

If you only need 8 passes to beat the brakes off another team there’s no reason to throw more. Yes Garapalo is getting the benefit of being on a team with a great D and great running game so he doesn’t tend to have to throw often. But he CAN go 26 of 35 for 349 yards and 4 TDs if the game calls for it.

There is not a team in the entire history of football that would trade 450yds of passing for 285yds running.

Why pass when you can dominate with the running game?

SF passes only when necessary. Which is not often.

But when they do, it’s very effective. Just ask Drew Brees.
