That happened to a famous British comedian...Tommy Cooper. He was performing at a televised event when he just sat down and then went flat. For a little while people thought it was part of his act.

That one is actually on YT for anyone who is interested (viewer discretion obviously advised). It does seem like a fairly peaceful way to go.

I worked in a big city ER for years and I can assure you that you’re correct. I still have nightmares of some of the stuff I saw...things that didn’t even remotely resemble what he experienced.

“As for me...out hunting tree dogs at 3am hustling to a tree to see what the dogs have treed.”

That’ll be Beau, too. We raise Treeing Walker Coon Hounds and Plot Hounds - for fun and no profit. ;)

While at the hospital in the cardiac care waiting room I saw a display about the hospital’s initiative to improve the survival rate of first time sudden heart attacks. In central Minnesota the fatality rate is around 95%.

I was quite surprised since we hear of people who survive a heart attack.

My 42 year old brother couldn’t be revived even though CPR was begun immediately by his coworkers. The Resuscitation efforts continued in the ambulance and at one of the state’s major hospitals, but sometimes people just can’t be revived no matter how rapid or expert the response.

I watched that video on YouTube about a year ago. I wasn’t familiar with Tommy Cooper but, somehow, the video appeared on my YouTube recommendations. It was sad but at least he went peacefully, although I was a little surprised at how long it took someone to figure out that something was wrong.

I would rather view the Tommy Cooper death video than the Budd Dwyer death video. I still hate myself for watching that one.

Yeah, that one was a little rough.

What a nice reply from someone whose talent you admired! Imagine what a lout like De Niro would have written.

I tried to make a Plott Hound pup in to a house dog once. In that setting it was the dumbest animal I’ve ever seen. Or maybe I was the dumb one for trying.

Rodale, the founder of Prevention Magazine, was on the Dick Cavett Show, and told Cavett that “he [Rodale] would probably live to be 100” because of his diet.

Cavett went on to his next guest, and Rodale had a coronary while sitting there.

That epi or segment never ran. Cavett did do an interview explaining what transpired.

We have a young male Plott right now, who is the sweetest boy EVER - but not all that bright, and kind of a dick to other dogs. He’s just a big DOOFUS. He’s only 9 months old, so he’ll outgrow some of it, and learn a few Life Lessons along the way. ;) A friend who has a male pup from this same litter says the same about his male.

And he’s just HUGE! Stop growing, already, LOL! He is beautiful, though. A deep chocolate brown brindle. We also have another male Plott that is a maltese (gray) brindle. Again, sweet as can be, but dumb as a stump. Good bear dog, though.

Today Beau and Oneida are out chasing around coyotes in fresh snow.

But, as a house dog? Um...Nope, LOL!

My grandpa passed shoveling snow in his driveway in December.

Unfortunately, that was not high on his list of things he loved. I’m sure he would have much preferred to go working on his metal lathe or milling machine.

I just remembered something. The funniest thing that dumb dog ever did was jump up on my ex BIL who was sleeping on the couch and pee on his face.

Now that sounds odd. “I was hangin’ out in the cold/Put a hole in some ship’s hold.” I’ll have to look up what the words really are.
