FTA:
"During this time he earned a world record as most isolated human being" while his crew mates roamed the lunar surface, and he was 2,235 miles away from anyone else."
NASA needs her -- even yet...!
Since the average earth-Moon distance is 238,856 miles, the article's "2,235 miles away from anyone else" is, at best, a couple of orders of magnitude off...
Way to build public confidence, NASA!

NASA has a ‘Meet the Astronaut” program.
We went to NASA last year on the request of a friend who wanted to get his autograph(s). Our friend paid for our admission and provided several items to autograph. (They set up at the gift shop I think about 4:00 PM. There is a schedule.)
Unfortunately it rained that day so was not too great running from location to location but we did enjoy NASA. Since we were there for our friend we stuck around and ended up being first in line to meet him.
Let’s just say he was a bit crotchety. He signed a couple things and refused to sign a few more.
RIP Al. Thanks.
