The American death rate will be far lower than the Italian and Spanish death rates - even with falsely attributing deaths of people with severe preconditions to Corona. Expensive drug cocktails recommended by Trump are helping many people. This will wind up being approximately as deadly as the h1n1 flu of a decade ago. Fauci is wrong to say 100-200k will die.
My concern is for the greater harm this shutdown will have on the economic lives of people and for the loss of constitutional rights. Hoping for an Easter end to this lockdown - end of April is excessive.

Scott Gottlieb just came out and said that he thinks everyone should be wearing a mask in public.
He suggested that we save the medical quality masks for HCWs, but that the general public should learn how to make cotton masks (last thing I heard was that a pillowcase would be sufficent for this purpose).
He also suggested that the CDC should publish information so that the general public can learn how to make masks at home out of readily available materials.

Ours, Zero/0 direct Family members from S. Africa to the west coast w/3 siblings, and each with 2 adult children and 2 grand kids in each family and one other adult spouse per family.
21 adults (10 husbands/wives and 1 widow), in our cul de sac. 30 adult children or college age kids and 24 grand kids. All clear as of yesterday. Clear day with no rain, everyone was out walking. All of their family members were okay as of 4 pm. The widow has a daughter with a 6 month old baby, who lived and worked in NY City. The daughter/grandchild came out to help her mother through some health issues in February, and she is basically caught here. She works for a financial firm, and they have set up an office in her mother’s home. She spends a lot of time each day doing what she did in NYC.
My wife calls 10 husband/wife church/members weekly in our church and 4 widows to see if they are okay. She is one of 20 callers. 380+ members/spouses/singles are contacted 2 times a week to see if they are okay or need help. We have no idea how many adult children, under 21 kids or grand kids are also in this grouping. It would be a safe estimate to say 700+ are in this grouping. 0 cases reported from that group as of yesterday.
We have 8 couples and 2 widows, who are long time friends, 60+ years across the country, whom we contact, call or text weekly, 18. Guessing at their spawns #, 18. Each unit has at least 2 adult children and 2 grand kids so add another 18. Many are great grandparents. 0 cases as of yesterday.
Not only are these relatives/people as noted above, alive/ clear and okay, they like us, do not know of anyone personally with the Corona Virus, alive or dead.
