Found the twitter of the guy below last night and this one linked to several others that look extremely interesting before I passed out. Woke this morning with laptop folded up between me and husband.

The boy ain’t lying.

I checked scot free in the etymology book.

Finding multiple meanings in the World of Q, etymologically speaking

scot-free (adj.)

Old English scotfreo “exempt from royal tax,” from scot “royal tax,” from Old Norse skot “contribution,” literally “a shooting, shot; thing shot, missile” (from PIE root *skeud- “to shoot, chase, throw;” the Old Norse verb form, skjota, has a secondary sense of “transfer to another; pay”) + freo (see free (adj.)). First element related to Old English sceotan “to pay, contribute,” Dutch schot, German Schoß “tax, contribution.” French écot “share” (Old French escot) is from Germanic.

Seriously got a feeling this is another bottomless rabbit hole to dig. I’m all over it. “Royal Tax”, “tax, contribution” and “missile” got my spidey senses tingling and vibrating.

Q45 has dropped a major CRUMB with scot free.

Need help digging. These twitters appear to be a treasure trove, linking to others. Please do what you all do best.

Need coffee and dear husband is howling for food. Be right back.

So Q has never used the term [Scot-free] before
I looked it up. It doesn’t come from Dred Scott or Scottish folk
It was about paying a municipal tax to the British
Multiple layers of meaning?

Aha —— so now we have three angles
A tax angle
A missing “T”

All the numbers are being fudged.
China at 0 deaths should tell you the WHO is in full crisis mode to maintain the narrative.
Someone please ask Fauci & Birx about the
[94% drop] in regular flu cases in 2020 vs past years?
Now this is Trump draining the swamp!!!!

I admit this seems like a stretch, but the mystery was never solved. Today is the first “current event” where something really fits.

COVID-19 seems to interrupt the FE2+ FE3+ oxygen exchange cycle, making people suffocate.

Yesterday Publius suggested [Scot-free] would refer to a perp who escaped the upcoming Barr/Durham indictments.

Barr (bagpipes) being the Scot.

from Q-1935:

Do people really believe the biggest scandal in modern US history will go unpunished [Scot-Free]?

A possible secondary meaning could have to do with Scottish Rite freemasonry. (Scot-Free)

-Mr. Clinton disclosed that the Clinton Foundation has signed a new agreement with a leading ACT (Artesunate Combined Therapy) manufacturing company to reduce the price of malaria drugs by 30%.

Excerpts

Sunday, August 3, 2008

Bill Clinton announced new initiative to fight malaria in Liberia.......

Former American President, William Jefferson Clinton at the head of a sixty (60) member delegation visited Liberia Sunday, to participate in the launching and promotion of the awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS and Malaria.

President Bill Clinton says there is a need for Liberians to know that there is an enormous amount of support and sympathy for them in the United States and has appealed to Liberians to be patient and not get discouraged. President Clinton attributed the interest and support Liberia has generated in the United States to the admiration Americans have for the leadership of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, whom he said represents something new and different not only for Liberia but for the continent of Africa.

The President announced a new initiative to combat the malaria epidemic in Liberia. Mr. Clinton disclosed that the Clinton Foundation has signed a new agreement with a leading ACT (Artesunate Combined Therapy) manufacturing company to reduce the price of malaria drugs by 30%.

The President was speaking at the official program held at the C. Cecil Dennis Auditorium at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized by the Government of Liberia.

The president and his delegation have left Liberia for Senegal in continuation of his Africa tour.

(It is not commercially available in the United States; however, it can be obtained via the Centers for Disease Control.)

Excerpts

Artesunate (AS) is a medication used to treat malaria.[3][4] The intravenous form is preferred to quinidine for severe malaria.[3] Often it is used as part of combination therapy, such as artesunate plus mefloquine.[4] It is not used for the prevention of malaria.[4] Artesunate can be given by injection into a vein, injection into a muscle, by mouth, and by rectum.[4][5][6]

Artesunate is generally well tolerated.[5] Side effects may include a slow heartbeat, allergic reaction, dizziness, and low white blood cell levels.[4] During pregnancy it appears to be a safer option, even though animal studies have found harm to the baby.[7] Use is likely okay during breastfeeding.[8] It is in the artemisinin class of medication.[3]

Artesunate was developed by Liu Xu in 1977.[9] It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines, the safest and most effective medicines needed in a health system.[10] The wholesale cost in the developing world is US$2.09 to US$2.57 a dose.[11] It is not commercially available in the United States; however, it can be obtained via the Centers for Disease Control.[3][12] It was originally made from the sweet wormwood plant.[3]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liu_Xu_(chemist)

Excerpts

Liu Xu (Chinese: 29 September 1938 – 5 September 2019)[1] was a Chinese pharmaceutical chemist known for the discovery of artesunate[2][3], a novel antimalarial drug.[4] The discovery of artesunate solves the problem that artemisinin is nearly insoluble in water. Artesunate can be given by intravenous injection, intramuscular injection, by mouth, and by rectum.[5]

For his work, Liu received the 1989 state award for inventions and the 2002 State Science and Technology Progress Award.

Early life

Liu Xu was born in Rudong, Jiangsu, China, on 29 December 1938. Xu Liu studied at the Department of Pharmacy in China Pharmaceutical University and graduated in 1959. From August 1959 to 1961, Liu Xu took part in the project of synthesizing new varieties of sulfa drugs in the Beijing Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry. In 1961, he moved to Guilin Pharmaceutica due to the Third-Front Movement.

Research career

On May 21st, 1977, the Office of Project 523 gave Guilin Pharmaceutica the task of revising the structure of artemisinin in order to improve the drug’s effect and solve the water solubility problem. Liu Xu was appointed to be the leader of this project. Liu created a series of derivatives and finally found Derivative No 804, later named as artesunate, which has 3 to 7 times more efficacy in malaria treatment than artemisinin and can be manufactured into water-soluble preparations. It is possible to use artesunate for intravenous injection, so it can be used to treat severe malaria.

On Oct 4th 1981, in the Malaria Chemotherapy Seminar held by WHO, artesunate was chosen as a priority development project.

The artesunate project won the third prize of the National Invention Award in 1989. On 1988 Oct 29th artesunate obtained patent authorization from China Patent Office.

In 1996 Zhou Guangzhao, dean of CAS at that time, released a reward list for artemisinin research results, including 10 scientists who made major contributions to the project. Liu Xu’s name was on the list due to his role in the creation of artesunate.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemisia_annua

Artemisia is known as Wormwood

Excerpts

-Artemisia annua, also known as sweet wormwood,[2] sweet annie, sweet sagewort, annual mugwort[3] or annual wormwood

- In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), A. annua is traditionally used to treat fever.[17] Due to duplication in ancient TCM scriptures, A. annua is more commonly referred to as qinghao (Chinese: & pinyin: q;o), the modern Chinese name for Artemisia carvifolia, as opposed to its current Chinese name huanghuahao.[18] Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China defines qinghao in TCM as “dried aboveground parts of A. annua”.[19]

Seeds
The proposed mechanism of action of artemisinin involves cleavage of endoperoxide bridges by iron, producing free radicals (hypervalent iron-oxo species, epoxides, aldehydes, and dicarbonyl compounds) which damage biological macromolecules causing oxidative stress in the cells of the parasite.[20] Malaria is caused by apicomplexans, primarily Plasmodium falciparum, which largely reside in red blood cells and itself contains iron-rich heme-groups (in the form of hemozoin).[21] In 2015 artemisinin was shown to bind to a large number targets suggesting that it acts in a promiscuous manner.[

-New hybrids of Artemisia annua developed in Switzerland can reach a leaf artemisinin content of up to 2%

-The application of salicylic acid on the leaves shortly before harvesting the plant also can raise its artemisinin content (Salicylic acid is the principal metabolite of aspirin)

-In 1971, scientists demonstrated the plant extracts had antimalarial activity in primate models, and in 1972, the active ingredient, artemisinin (formerly referred to as arteannuin), was isolated and its chemical structure described. Artemisinin may be extracted using a low boiling point solvent, such as diethylether, and is found in the glandular trichomes of the leaves, stems, and inflorescences, and it is concentrated in the upper portions of plant within new growth.[23] The first isolation of artemisinin from the herb occurred from a military project known as Project 523, following the study of traditional medicine pharmacopoeias performed by Tu Youyou and other researchers within the project.[24]

- Apart from the active compound Artemisinin, recent studies show that A. annua is one of the four medical plants with the highest Oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) level.[25]

Artemisia annua possesses the capacity to produce high phenolic compounds, which result in high antioxidant activity. Five major groups (coumarins, flavones, flavonols, phenolic acids and miscellaneous) containing over 50 different phenolic compounds were identified analyzing A. annua.[26]

Flavonoids are generally known for their redox properties involved in the delay or inhibition of the initiation or propagation in oxidizing chain reactions.[26]

Even though the beneficial effect of these phenolic compounds on a great number of diseases is often discussed, different studies show beneficial effects of flavonoids compound produced by A. annua. It has been stated that there is a negative correlation between the presence of the mentioned components and cardiovascular diseases, cancer and parasitic disease such as malaria.[26]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_523

Excerpts

Project 523 (or task number five hundred and twenty-three; Chinese: 523;)[1] is a code name for the secret military project of the People’s Republic of China during and after the Cultural Revolution, for antimalarial medications, which were urged in the Vietnam War.[2] The name stood for 23 May, the day the project was launched in 1967. It was aimed at finding new drugs for malaria, the disease which claimed more lives than the actual battles.[3] At the behest of H; Chí Minh, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (then North Vietnam), Zhou Enlai, the Premier of the People’s Republic of China, convinced Mao Zedong, Chairman of the Communist Party of China, to start a mass project for development of new antimalarial drug “to keep [the] allies’ troops combat-ready”, as they put down in the meeting minute. More than 500 Chinese scientists were recruited. The project was divided into two streams, one for developing synthetic compounds, and the other for investigating traditional Chinese medicine. The latter proved to be the more fruitful, directly resulting in the discovery and development of a class of new antimalarial drugs called artemisinins.[4] It was officially terminated in 1981.

For their high efficacy, safety and stability, artemisinins such as artemether and artesunate became the drugs of choice in falciparum malaria. Their combination drugs are advocated by the World Health Organization, and are included in the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines. Among the scientists of the project, Zhou Yiqing and his team at the Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology of the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences, were awarded the European Inventor Award of 2009 in the category “Non-European countries” for the development of Coartem (artemether-lumefantrine combination drug).[5] Tu Youyou of the Qinghaosu Research Center, Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, received both the 2011 Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award and 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for her role in the discovery of artemisinin.[6]

THIS IS A WEIRD THEORY: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I need to research into this more

I'm hesitant to believe it, but that might be my own ignorance.

I can not confirm nor deny this, but I do find it to be an interesting hypothesis https://t.co/10u1vW5WKE— @Pug_Apu (@Pug_Apu) April 9, 2020
